American Translators Association (ATA)

The ATA is a professional association founded to advance the translation and interpreting professions. It also fosters the professional development of individual translators and interpreters. The ATA is composed of more than 10,000 members in more than 90 countries. Members include translators, interpreters, teachers, project managers, web and software developers, agency proprietors, hospitals, universities, and government agencies. The ATA offers a certification exam to translators in 24 language combinations. Becoming ATA certified allows translators to objectively document their abilities in a specific language combination. As an ATA member, CP Language attends the conferences, seminars and workshops in order to gain insights and the most up-to-date technology of the translation and interpretation industry. Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)

RID is a national membership organization representing the professionals who facilitate communication between people who are deaf or hard of hearing and people who can hear. RID has developed a certification process that involves passing a series of tests. As a member of RID, CP Language actively participates in the conferences and activities, continuously learning the deaf culture and constantly working with RID-certified interpreters. Cross Cultural Health Care Program

The Cross Cultural Health Care Program is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 whose mission is to help grant underserved communities with full access to quality health care that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. CP Language is licensed to teach their nationally-recognized medical interpreter training program, Bridging the Gap. This program trains thousands of healthcare professionals in cultural awareness in the United States and abroad. We train and we are recognized as the industry standard: a leader in the field of cultural competency trainings. Circle of translators (NYCT)

NYCT has become a New York State not-for-profit corporation with several hundred members. It is governed by a set of Bylaws which regulate the internal affairs of the association. NYCT is a chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA) which is, in turn, an affiliate of the International Federation of Translators (FIT). As a member of the NYCT, CP Language stays informed of changes within the translation industry and has access to qualified translators. International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA)

IMIA is committed to the advancement of professional medical interpreters as the best practice to equitable language access to health care for linguistically diverse patients. IMIA was founded in 1986, with over 1,900 members, most providing interpreting services in over 70 languages. The IMIA is the oldest and largest medical interpreter association in the country. The Association of Medical Interpreters of New York (AMINY)

AMINY is the result of a renewed interest of interpreters, students, interpreter trainers, Language Access Program coordinators, managers, and directors with a commitment to get AMINY up and running.
