Staff Profiles

Bing Yang: CEO of CPLI

As CEO and founder of CPLI, Bing brings over twenty-five years of language services expertise from teaching, interpreting, translating, and consulting. All his life he has been intensively involved in his passion: learning about different cultures and languages. Bing started his career as a teacher in Taiwan, where he taught Chinese at the Yale in China program. He also taught Mandarin at the University of Michigan and at Baruch College in New York. Over the years Bing has worked actively as a business and language consultant in the fields of translation and interpretation.

In the 1980’s he established CP Language as a language services company with translation, interpretation, language courses and audiovisual services. The immediate goal was to offer all these services in as many languages as possible. This is how Bing was able to fulfill his passion for languages and bridge people to have a better understanding of the different cultural and social environments around the world.

He consistently travels around the world to better understand different cultures and to continue learning about languages. Most importantly, Bing's vision for CP Language is to offer an international environment, in which exchanging thoughts and ideas are welcome in order to have a better understanding of the world. Bing's strategic direction has established CPLI as a premier international language institute.

Angel Wong: General Manager of CPLI

Angel draws upon her extensive corporate and financial experience to provide superb leadership in the daily operations at CPLI. An accomplished corporate manager, Angel holds degrees in finance and engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and she is fluent in Cantonese and English. She strives to ensure that all client requests are fulfilled with exceptional quality and punctuality.

Olivia Kuo: Director of Interpretation Department

Olivia received her master's degree at the Monterey Institute of International Studies after her undergraduate studies at National Taiwan University. Having a natural talent and passion for languages, Olivia is a certified consecutive interpreter and translator in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. Olivia grew up in Taiwan, but has since spent years interpreting and translating in California and New York. As the director of the Interpretation Department at CPLI, she manages incoming interpretation projects and assignments.

Jessica Dukes: Co-Director of Interpretation Department

Jessica has many years of experience in the language and culture fields. After graduating with a BA in English and Literature from the University of Colorado, she decided to spend 6 months working in Denmark. Soon after, she volunteered to teach English to Bosnian refugees in Denver. After completing the program in Denver, she went to Spain in order to learn Spanish and teach customized English courses designed by her and also managed to teach a Master's course in "Presentations and Negotiations". She also helped students to prepare for the TOEFL. Today, she is a key member of CPLI's interpretation department, where she arranges interpretation projects and assignments.

Miho Narod: Lead Graphic Artist

Drawing upon diverse international experiences, Miho has established herself as a phenomenal graphic designer and project manager. Born in Kyoto, Japan, Miho received her degree from the University of Padjadjaran (Indonesia), and continued developing her design skills in Hawaii before moving to New York. Additionally, Miho is a certified medical interpreter (fluent in Japanese and English) and lends her expertise to the Translation Department.

Joseph Schüftan: Chief A/V Engineer

Having graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh and the School of Audio and Video Engineering in New York City, Joseph has worked for almost 10 years as an engineer, specializing in the audio/video fields. Principally CPLI's media technology guru, Joseph is an expert in professional dubbing, subtitling, and audio/video relaying. Born in Colombia, Joseph lived extensively in Germany where he attended Bonn International School before moving to New York. He is fully fluent in Spanish and English, and even knows some German.

Dean Wilkie: Director of Translation Department

Dean's years of translation expertise provide him with a thorough understanding of clients' translation needs. After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), Dean spent several years studying, translating, and consulting in Europe. Being fluent in English and Italian is only one of Dean's valuable skills. As every project is unique, Dean ensures that all assignments are carefully and efficiently completed according to client specifications.
