Choreographer and Artistic Director of SENSEDANCE

Early Life:
- From Germany
- Took first ballet class at age 5
- Moved to NYC as a teenager
- Early mentors: Martha Hill and Elizabeth Keen

Career:
- Choreographer/Artistic Director of SENSEDANCE (Hartford city ballet) since 1992
- Has created 60+ dances that have been performed in Australia, New Zealand, Central & South America, Europe and the U.S.
- Transferred from The Hamburg Opera Ballet School in Germany, to attend and later graduate from The Juilliard School
- Joined the Juilliard School Evening Division faculty in fall 2006.
Ensemble works:
- "Double Concerto" and "DJANGO" - a suite of dances to music by legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt
- "MERCILESS BEAUTY" juxtaposing music by Bach and contemporary art songs by Leslie Wildman, as well as "Garden" set to traditional Iraqi music and the newly commissioned "DINNER IS WEST" to original music by Beata Moon
- Choreographs for opera and theater, including Outer Critics Circle Award winner Lanie Robertson's Off-Broadway production "Cannibal's Waltz"
- Was the subject of television documentaries in the U.S. and Germany and DANCEVISTA produced three TV specials on his work.
- 2006: Filmmaker Simone Wiest's full-length documentary feature "Behind the Curtain"
